Carrier Oil: Does it matter what type?

Carrier Oil in Glass Jar

This summary page is certainly not exhaustive. Each carrier oil has many benefits. We will go into more detail in other blog posts.

Carrier oils help increase the bioavailability of CBD, meaning that more of it absorbs into the bloodstream. Carrier oils extract cannabinoids from the flower and make it easier to swallow. Different carrier oils help the body absorb CBD cannabinoids at differing rates with varying levels of effect periods.

You can make carrier oils from many products, but all work essentially the same.

When you ingest CBD oil, it passes through your digestive system, makes its way to the liver, and absorbs into your bloodstream. However, a large part of the oil is broken down by this process before it has a chance to be absorbed. This is where intestinal lymphatic transport plays a crucial role in CBD absorption. Lipids adhere to the walls of whatever internal transportation system they pass through.

We all know there are good and bad saturated fats (lipids). “Bad” lipids don’t easily break down. Instead, they sit there and accumulate. “Good” lipids, on the other hand, absorb very quickly and efficiently directly through the intestinal wall.

Avocado Oil & Grape Seed Oil

We plan on testing and developing Avocado oil and Grape Seed oil soon. Studies show neither tested well alone as the only carrier oil but shows promise as an additive with MCT or other primary oils. Avocado oil has a slightly nutty taste as well. It is very thick, even more than olive oil. Therefore avocado oil is not a great CBD carrier oil on its own. However, it could be added to thin carriers to increase the viscosity of the CBD oil. Avocado oil also contains several vitamins.

Grapeseed oil is thin. Like very thick carriers, too-thin ones aren’t ideal for CBD oil either (as described earlier at MCT). Grapeseed oil has a light fruity taste which most people like. The health benefits of grapeseed oil are mainly due to its antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties.

SZ87 CBD only uses certified organic, Kosher, Non-GMO products. We can make your product using your choice of carrier oil or a blend.

Pros & Cons of Each Different Carrier Oil

Here is a summary of 3 popular carrier oils: MCT, Hemp seed Oil, and Olive Oil, along with a few pros and cons to consider:

  • Pro: Hemp seed oil increases the entourage effect. Cannabinoids work together to increase the overall effectiveness of CBD oil.
  • Con: Hemp seed oil studies indicate using it as a CBD carrier can cause the user to test positive on drug screening. It also carries a strong hemp taste.
  • Pro: MCT oil studies show quicker absorption in the body. It is also Keto friendly and has less hemp taste.
  • Con: MCT oil has shorter dosage cycle times.
  • Pro: Olive Oil is primarily a monounsaturated fat or oleic acid. Oleic acid is naturally anti-inflammatory and has been found to alter epigenetics (or gene formations) associated with cancer – which means that oleic acid may prevent cancer. Olive oil is also an antioxidant and can scavenge free radicals.
  • Con: Olive Oil has a slower initial absorption rate after the dose but is effective for longer after the dose. It also has a strong hemp taste.

The Anointing Oil of the Holy Spirit

The Anointing Oil of the Holy Spirit

The Importance of Oil in the Bible

You’re probably familiar with using bread and wine/juice in a communion service, which represents the body and blood of Jesus. So if bread and wine represent Jesus, then what represents the Holy Spirit? Oil!

“13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed David in the presence of his brothers; and the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon David from that day forward. And Samuel arose and went to Ramah. 1 Samuel 16:13 (AMP)”

“39 Zadok the priest took a horn of [olive] oil from the [sacred] tent and anointed Solomon. They blew the trumpet, and all the people said, “Long live King Solomon!” (AMP)”

Whatever the bible uses to represent the Holy Spirit is what we want to use. Therefore, we use oil!

The Holy Spirit Comes as Oil

The gift of God is His great love for each of us. He wants only the best for us, so he gives us His Holy Spirit to guide us through life. The Holy Spirit is just as important in our Christian walk as Jesus and the Father. So why does oil represent the Holy Spirit? Here Jack Hayford talks about the Holy Spirit as oil:

The anointing—the oil of Scripture—is directly related to the Holy Spirit’s work in our life (2 Cor. 1:21-22). This anointing makes us sensitive (1 John 2:20). How many times have you sensed something was wrong or right but didn’t know why or how you knew? The Holy Spirit, by His anointing and presence, confirms what He is—the Spirit of Truth, Holiness, and Wisdom. Obeying the Holy Spirit means that He will give us wisdom when we need it in our everyday life.

Anointing Oil

All the primary offices of Scripture—prophets, priests, and kings—involve anointing. And all of these are offices to which we are called. As prophets, we are called to speak the Word of the Lord. There are times when the Holy Spirit will give you words of comfort, exhortation or sensitive counsel to say to other people. As priests, the Lord wants to anoint us for worship to renew us so that our worship doesn’t become stale, habitual or formal. And as kings, we don’t just get anointed once. It takes fresh anointing for dominion of His Kingdom and the authority of His life to happen through us. When it does, we can move confidently in our homes, businesses, and relationships with family and others. God will not anoint us with the ability to rule when we try to manage things our way!

The Oil of Rejoicing

The Lord wants to anoint those who are overcome by the spirit of mourning with the oil of rejoicing. That anointing brings the lifting of our heads with the refreshing of seeing beyond today—not with superficial optimism, but with a deep abiding of hope that comes from God.

Symbols of the Holy Spirit

Anointing with oil symbolizes the Holy Spirit’s uniting us with Jesus, the Messiah, the Anointed One. (Acts of the Apostles 10:381 John 2:20-27)

Here is a great resource about the symbols of the Holy Spirit!

Official documents in the past (Nehemiah 9:38Esther 8:8)–and some documents today–were sealed with hot wax. Then the wax was imprinted with the official seal of the person sending the document. Similarly, we are “sealed” by the Holy Spirit to show that we are forever part of God’s family. (Song of Songs 8:6John 6:27)

Holy Spirit as Part of the Trinity

Jesus points to the Spirit, and the Holy Spirit points to Jesus by calling Him the Anointed One, meaning the Holy Spirit One, and the Holy Spirit always glorifies the Father and the Son. Our God is One, and we are One with Him. Jesus prayed, “…that they may all be one; even as Thou, Father, art in Me, and I in Thee, that they also may be in Us; that the world may believe that Thou didst send Me.” (NASB)

The power and anointing of the Holy Spirit are available to all believers. If you would like that power in your own life, we agree with you in prayer today!

In Jesus’ name,

Dan

The Day of Salvation

“This [day in which God has saved me] is the day which the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it., (AMP)”

As we continue work on our new piece of land, so many thoughts come to mind as I look back over the past 41 years. I love psalms 41 which says,

“Blessed is the one who considers the [a]helpless;

  1. The Lord will save him on a day of [b]trouble
  2.  The Lord will protect him
  3. and keep him alive
  4. And he will be called [c]blessed upon the earth
  5. And do not turn him over to the desire of his enemies
  6. The Lord will sustain him upon his sickbed
  7. In his illness, You [d]restore him to health (NASB)”

Those are 7 wonderful, amazing things the Lord will do for us as we help others. 41 years ago, I too walked away from drugs and life as an addict and surrendered my heart to Jesus forever, bless His Holy Name. Jesus, the Lamb, oh how I love Him.

Delivery from Addiction

After walking away from drugs in 1981, the Lord gave me a heart for addicts, alcoholics, and eventually, the homeless. God reminded me He has a sense of humor by sending me back to design machines to make or process drugs. I even had the opportunity to design security systems despite the fact I had not been trustworthy early in life either.

He also showed me that He knew exactly what He was doing by sending me a wife who had two parents that were prescription drug addicts. She loved her parents but learned the downfalls of addiction by watching them go from valley to valley. Elaine and I have seen addiction from different perspectives, as she has never used any kind of drug. But we walk in agreement that Jesus is the answer for every problem including, and especially, addiction.

This was Elaine’s dad’s favorite verse after he got clean and delivered from drugs:

Psalms 91

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!” For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper And from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with His pinions, And under His wings you may seek refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark. You will not be afraid of the terror by night, Or of the arrow that flies by day; Of the pestilence that [a]stalks in darkness, Or of the destruction that lays waste at noon. A thousand may fall at your side And ten thousand at your right hand, But it shall not approach you. You will only look on with your eyes And see the recompense of the wicked. [b]For you have made the Lord, my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place. 10 No evil will befall you, Nor will any plague come near your [c]tent. 11 For He will give His angels charge concerning you, To guard you in all your ways. 12 They will bear you up in their hands, That you do not strike your foot against a stone. 13 You will tread upon the lion and cobra, The young lion and the [d]serpent you will trample down. 14 “Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name. 15 “He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in [e]trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. 16 “With [f]a long life I will satisfy him And [g]let him see My salvation.” (NASB)

We can thank Him for delivering us from the deadly pestilence in verse 3. Wow! 41 years ago I began life as a design engineer and have worked for the best companies in America. Caterpillar, Pfizer, Pinkerton, Andrew Corporation, and American Tower Corporation. The Lord used each experience to teach me something about this journey today. I’ve always, as a believer, lived in the corporate world according to Proverbs 3:5-6, which says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. (NASB)”

After 41 years of the Lord guiding me each and every day, I can say, just as Joshua 23:14, “Now behold, today I am going the way of all the earth, and you know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one word of all the good words which the Lord your God has promised concerning you has failed; all have been fulfilled for you, not one of them has failed. (NASB)”

The Free Gift of Salvation

The Lord has been faithful to me even when I was not faithful to Him. But it is by faith that I live, not by works. We freely receive His gift of salvation. In fact, we can’t be good enough. It’s about believing and accepting what Jesus did, and the life you live will be in Him. 2 Corinthians 6:2 reads, “…for He says, “At a favorable time I listened to you, And on a day of salvation I helped you.” Behold, now is “a favorable time,” behold, now is “a day of salvation”—”

Today, we are praying for you! We are praying that as you read these blog pages you may decide to give Him your all today, just like He did for you 2000 years ago on a cruel cross and is doing right now as He sits by the Father praying for you…

“…whereas Christ, having offered the one sacrifice [the all-sufficient sacrifice of Himself] for sins for all time, sat down [signifying the completion of atonement for sin] at the right hand of God [the position of honor], 13 waiting from that time onward until his enemies are made a footstool for His feet. 14 For by the one offering He has perfected forever and completely cleansed those who are being sanctified [bringing each believer to spiritual completion and maturity]. Hebrews 10:12-14 (AMP)”

34 Who is the one who condemns us? Christ Jesus is the One who died [to pay our penalty], and more than that, who was raised [from the dead], and who is at the right hand of God interceding [with the Father] for us. Romans 8:34 (AMP)”

How awesome is that, to know that Jesus is praying for you and me right now!? You are going to be blessed today in Jesus’ name!

Our Journey of Healing

Dan and Elaine Brewer, Owners of SZ87 CBD

We’re Dan and Elaine Brewer, founders of Restoration Ministries of Jesus in 1997 and SZ87 CBD since 2022. We’re excited to share our past, future, and calling with you through this blog. God has done so much healing in our lives to bring us to where we are today! We’ll also be sharing more about our product, SZ87 CBD oil.

Elaine and I began officially ministering to addicts, alcoholics and the homeless in 1997. That is still a passion that we continue. However, in 2018 our pet Lucy was having seizures. We discovered that plant-based products helped her tremendously. As we learned about plant-based products, Dan began experimenting with growing CBD as a hobby. We enjoyed the experience of a new adventure. Also, we were impressed with how beneficial CBD could be! I (Dan) soon found there were more uses of CBD for people than pets. That led me to file for a license with the State of North Carolina and then a federal license with the USDA to grow cannabis. Elaine and I soon learned how to make CBD oil. Now we have so many testimonies of folks benefitting from our product!

We couldn’t do any of this without the power of prayer. Prayer is vital to planting the seeds, growing the plants, making oil and shipping to you. We pray over everything!

As we apply the oil to our body, take it internally, or give it to pets we pray! We also encourage you to thank our heavenly Father. We believe when we pray, “Thank you for healing my body right now in Jesus name,” He will do it. You can still pray for healing, even if you have not made Jesus the Lord of your life. In our home, we rub it on the muscle or give to our pet and say, “Thank you Father. I am redeemed from every curse as I live by faith in the Son of the Living God. My pets are under my authority, so they too, are free from any curse. We take authority over every illness, disease, pain for me or my pets and thank You, for Your Word says in Psalms 103 that You forgive all our sins and heal all my diseases.”

Now if you have never entered into the covenant with the Father, there’s no better time. We know from the Bible that when God the Father created the heavens and earth, He created Adam and Eve. Then He put them in a beautiful garden and gave them authority over everything. But they made a mistake and sinned against God and lost that authority. They sinned by believing satan rather than obeying the Father. So God had to declare the wages for sin is death. Otherwise they would have taken sin into heaven, and that could not be! To stop the power of sin, He had to stop the carrier by declaring death. But God did not want everyone to die, so God sent Jesus, His only Son, to earth to pay for what Adam did once and for all, for the wages of sin.

Jesus paid a debt He did not owe. We, because of Adam, owed a debut we could not pay. So Jesus came to earth, born as a human baby, who lived His Holy, sinless life healing all that satan had deceived or bound in pain or sickness. Jesus was born to a virgin by the power of the Holy Spirit, so His true Father is Yaweh, our Father. Jesus satisfied the requirements of the Father to be perfect. He alone was the acceptable sacrifice to the Father to pay the sin wage. The Father accepted Jesus as the sacrifice. He satisfied the requirement for all. When you accept the sacrifice of Jesus, you too will be received by the Father, in Jesus name. He took your place on a cross. Now you can receive forgiveness in His name and be reconciled to the Father.

Jesus was and is God, but was born as a man to die on a cruel cross for you and for me. He was the first to be resurrected from death. Now we pray to the Father in the name of Jesus, “Father forgive me, for I have sinned. I know who Jesus is and that He died on a cross for my sin. Please forgive me Father. Wash me in the blood of Jesus and cleanse me of all unrighteous. Lead me. Guide me in Your Word, as I am a new creation according to 2 Corinthians 5:17. I will now live according to Your will. In Jesus Name, amen.”

If you just accepted Jesus through this post, message or call me. I’d love to pray with you about your new life in Jesus!
