Fall Self-care Checklist

Fall is such a nostalgic time of year. The weather finally cools off, the leaves turn, and the Pumpkin Spice Lattes come out. With all of these cozy vibes, it’s the perfect time of year to invest in some seasonal self-care. Here’s our fall self-care list to help you make the most of the season while it’s still here!

Take a Walk or Drive in the Leaves

In a digital world, we sometimes miss what’s happening around us. We recommend putting your phone down and taking a drive or walk through the leaves.

Grab a Good Book and Get a Fall Drink

Whether you love PSLs, or are more of an apple cider person, nothing makes you feel warm and cozy like a spiced fall drink. Why not grab a good book, head to a local coffee shop and get a seasonal drink?

Try a New Soup Recipe

There’s nothing better than the first time you can enjoy hot soup after a warm summer. Push yourself this season and try a new soup recipe!

Incorporating CBD Into Self-care

You can easily incorporate CBD into any of the above self-care items. To get an energetic boost before your walk, try some CBD capsules. Up the cozy factor by adding CBD tinctures to your food and drinks. Choosing a nighttime tincture (indica strain) helps promote relaxation.

We hope you enjoy this fall season!

Healing is Possible

Person praying for healing

We’re very excited to have a guest author on the blog this month! Matt Donnelly founded Matthew Donnelly Ministries twenty years ago. He has served the Lord Jesus Christ faithfully as a Youth Pastor, Associate Pastor, itinerant Evangelist, and in missions. Now, Matthew is serving the Lord as an author. His goal is to share liberating truths that connect people to God’s love and life! His most recent book, Capturing Heaven: Why You Don’t Have to Suffer is available now for purchase. This book explores the book of Job and proves through scripture that God is not the source of our suffering!

As a minister who has studied out sickness and suffering throughout the Bible, we asked Matt to write a short piece on healing & the power of healing prayer. Here’s what he had to say.

James 5:14–15 (KJV 1900):  Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:  15  And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up.

Healing is available to every person that will put their faith in the name of Jesus Christ!

The Scriptures guarantee a divine cure when three elements are combined:

1-Prayer
2-Faith
3-Oil in the name of the Lord

There is no ambiguity in this text. Jesus heals and it is accessible. It is not locked away for the chosen few, but is made accessible as if it has been deposited into a bank account. And just like a bank account, we are required to have the right account number.
That is what James so beautifully writes for us in the quoted Scriptures above.

The oil is not magical, but is a natural, tangible representation of the work of the Holy Spirit upon our bodies. The oil becomes a point of contact as we put our faith in the Lord and turn to him for our healing! Jesus paid the price on the cross for us to inherit the riches of redemption. Today, if you are sick, obey the word of God, put your faith in Jesus and receive healing. God is as tangible as oil and he wants to heal you today! Hallelujah!

Hemp Seed Oil: The Truth Behind the oil with a Hippie Name

Hemp seed oil and seeds

What is Hemp seed oil?

Hemp seed is not the same as hemp oil or Hemp extract, another name used for some CBD products. It lacks the cannabinoids present in CBD. HSO comes from hemp plant seeds or the Cannabis Sativa L plant. It’s packed with protein and Omega-3, 6, and 9 fatty acids. We need these Omega fatty acids, but our bodies cannot make them ourselves, so we need to get them from sources like hemp seed oil.

Hemp seed oil also contains vitamins, fiber, and other excellent nutrients. In addition, it interacts well with your endocannabinoid system, which increases its ability to react well with CBD. HSO lacks the cannabinoids present in CBD.

What are the benefits?

HSO contains phytonutrients and terpenes, which help to increase the entourage effect. The entourage effect is the theory that different cannabinoids can work together to boost the overall effectiveness of the oil. According to the hypothesis, it happens because each compound in the hemp plant has a different effect on the body. When they work together, they’re more powerful than alone.

Earlier, we mentioned that HSO contains omega-3s and omega-6 fatty acid linoleic acids. So, what’s so special about these fatty acids? These nutrients are essential for maintaining healthy skin and hair. They also have anti-inflammatory properties, which can be helpful if you’re using CBD to manage pain or inflammation.

Why Choose Hemp Seed Oil?

There are a couple of reasons to choose HSO as your carrier oil. If you’re looking for something to increase the overall effectiveness of the CBD itself, HSO could work well. Due to the entourage effect, you could see increased effectiveness without actually having to use a stronger dose. If you’re ingesting it, HSO is also a fantastic choice for managing pain or inflammation. Maybe you’re still unsure about which carrier choice is best for you. Olive Oil: The healthy fat we didn’t know we needed.

What is olive oil?

Olive Oil is more than a great cooking ingredient. It’s also a great Carrier Oil.

Olive oil comes from green olive fruits, usually grown in the Mediterranean regions. It’s one of the most popular choices for cooking, dressing, baking, and CBD.

The constitution isn’t fixed. Instead, it varies according to the altitude of cultivation, the harvest time, and the entire extraction process. The main component is oleic acid, an unsaturated natural fatty acid. Since oleic acid is a monounsaturated fatty acid, its presence makes the component one of the healthiest substituents for food.

What are the benefits?

When discussing Olive Oil versus other carrier oils, we can never have a clear picture without knowing the health benefits of the former. It’s known as the king of vegetable oils for a reason. Not only is the oil light and non-greasy, but it also helps avoid any adverse effects of having too many fatty oils. Here are just a few other fantastic benefits.

1. It’s rich in antioxidants.

When you are studying olive oil, you need to understand the fundamental constitution of the oil. Studies have shown that extra virgin olive oil is rich in antioxidants. These bioactive molecules help reduce the number of free radicals in your blood. As a result, it helps prevent the early aging of cells, tissues, skin, and even your hair.

2. It shows strong anti-inflammatory properties.

Another reason to trust olive oil with your health is the enormous quantity of anti-inflammatory components present in the oil. Most of the time, people only care about inflammation and swellings caused by external injuries and bruises. However, internal swells and inflammation are difficult to recognize and treat. The anti-inflammatory properties will help alleviate pain and swelling you may not even be aware of!

3. Helps prevent heart diseases.

If you are at higher risk of cardiac problems, incorporating olive oil into your routine can make a big difference. Compared to other oils, it’s far more beneficial for lowering the risks of strokes, heart attacks, increased LDL levels, and so on.

It contains only a single type of monounsaturated fatty acid. As a result, it is surprisingly light and doesn’t add to your body’s fat content. Perhaps this is why cardiologists tend to prefer a strict olive oil diet for people suffering from heart issues.

4. Helps reduce unnecessary hunger pangs and weight gain.

As discussed earlier, olive oil doesn’t add to the fat content of your body. So it’s not a likely culprit for spikes in your body weight. Surveys have shown that it suppresses food cravings, preventing you from eating too much or too often. As a result, it can help reduce your body weight when combined with an overall balanced diet and active lifestyle.

5. Helps in fighting off Type 2 diabetes symptoms.

Type 2 Diabetes is your body’s resistance to the insulin level in your blood. As a result, your blood glucose level increases rapidly. However, if you take olive oil as a part of your regular diet, oleic acid and other small chained fatty acids will help lower your body’s resistance to the insulin hormone in your blood.

6. It facilitates the body’s immunity.

The anti-bacterial properties in olive oil help promote your autoimmune response system. As a result, you can fight off more infections caused by bacteria and fungi with ease.

7. It’s a great choice for those struggling with the symptoms of aging.

Olive oil prevents and treats constipation, one of the unspoken problems with aging. A teaspoon a day can be an effective treatment for this issue.

In addition, Monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids are recommended as the primary source of fat in an anti-aging diet. Since it contains monounsaturated fats, it is a beneficial part of a healthy, anti-aging diet.

If we haven’t convinced you of the benefits yet, why not try it yourself? On your next order with SZ87, choose Olive Oil as your custom carrier oil.

MCT Oil: Why does it make a good Carrier Oil?

What is MCT oil?

MCT stands for medium chain triglycerides. MCT oil has no Omega fats and consist of only MCT fat. Most natural oils consist of short and medium chains of different fatty acids. However, the most important one of them is triglycerides. Generally, triglycerides are the resultant compound of ester and three molecules of fatty acids.

Both palm and coconut oil are rich in triglycerides, especially the medium-chain ones. These glyceride chains are artificially extracted from the oils by several means.

The reason why palm oil and coconut oil are chosen is that both of them contain long-chain triglycerides, which form the best MCT oil. MCT oil has around eight easily digestible carbon molecules. Hence these triglyceride chains provide a lot of energy to your body. Also, it is an artificially manufactured saturated fatty acid oil that offers many health benefits.

What are the benefits?

Before you decide about MCT oil, you must know its health benefits. Even though MCT oil is artificial, the medium-chain triglycerides provide some excellent health benefits that most people aren’t aware of. So, let’s have a look!

1. Helps in losing weight

Several studies have shown that having the recommended MCT oil dosage releases two hunger-suppressing hormones into the bloodstream. These two hormones are the peptide YY and leptin.

Since these two hormones release into the blood, hunger suppression will last longer. Hence, you will eat much less than your regular calorie intake.

2. Cleaner and instant energy source

MCT oil is known as one of the cleanest sources of energy. Its carbon molecule chains break down easily without releasing any form of nitrogenous by-products.

Your body gets metabolic energy from two primary sources: carbs and fats. However, breaking down fat at the earliest point possible can be challenging. Due to its ability to break down quickly, it is a great solution to this problem.

3. Prevents lactic acid formation in athletes

When athletes work, they put their muscles through pressure and strain. The muscle fibers need instant energy for movement. As a result, anaerobic respiration takes place, which is faster than aerobic. However, anaerobic respiration produces lactic acid, which accumulates in the muscles.

Because of this, the muscle fibers start aching, preventing athletes from continuing their workout. However, MCT oil doesn’t produce lactic acids even if it undergoes anaerobic respiration.

4. May help people suffering from neurodegenerative diseases

Even though medical documents are not yet available, MCT oil may help people suffering from various degenerative neural diseases.

5. Has antibacterial properties

One of the best benefits is that the compound contains several antibacterial properties. Hence, the oil will help your body fight against yeast infections and other bacterial infections.

6. Lowers the number of harmful lipids in the blood

Lastly, taking it daily as one of your dietary supplements will reduce the number of lipids that threaten your cardiac system. For example, medium-chain triglycerides will lower cholesterol and LDL in the blood.
